Summary:

Sixteen-year-old Jun dreams of proving his worth as a warrior in the Guardian Tournament, held every six years to entrust the magical Scroll of Heaven to a new Guardian. Jun is eager to demonstrate his skills. He hopes that victory would restore his father's pride and right the terrible mistake that led to their banishment from his home, his mother, and his twin brother. But Jun's father strictly forbids him from participating. He is convinced that Jun has no future as a warrior, especially since he wasn't born with a breath mark, a patch of dragon scales, and special abilities like his twin brother. Determined to become the next Guardian, Jun hides in the wagon of Chang and his daughter Ren, who are on their way to the capital city where the tournament will be held. As Jun competes, he quickly realizes that he is not only fighting for a better life, but also for the fate of the country and the survival of everyone he cares about.
