Roots of Darkness (3)

The Bloodaxe Crew has arrived in the village of Istré – besieged and missing three members. Although outnumbered, Hekla – Rib Smasher – is determined to complete her mission: to defeat the evil mist with a single heartbeat and protect the citizens of Istré. What she didn't expect is that the stubborn chieftain of Istré will obstruct her every step.  

Desperate, Hekla throws all caution to the wind and gives herself over to a single passionate night. To her horror, the mysterious warrior in the red robe, to whom she confided her deepest secrets, is the new leader and ally of the Bloodaxe Crew – Eyvind Hakonsson.  

Hekla must now learn to play by Eyvind's rules while protecting her own heart. However, when it becomes clear that his plans align with those of the chief, Hekla takes matters into her own hands.
